IPST 2011
Innovation in Polymer Science and Technology 2011


Under the auspices of Asian Polymer Association (APA), Indonesian Polymer Association (HPI) organized the International Conference, Exhibition, and Workshop on Innovation in Polymer Science and Technology 2011 (IPST 2011). This event was held in Sanur Paradise Hotel, Sanur, Bali, from November 28 to December 1, 2011. More than 200 participants from 16 countries joined the conference. With 8 Plenary Speakers, over 30 Keynote and Invited Speakers, and 160 oral and poster presenters, IPST 2011 is truly the biggest international scientific conference organized by HPI, said Dr. Sunit Hendrana as the chairman of IPST 2011 Committee in his welcoming speech. 

Selected peer-reviewed papers were published by Elsevier in Procedia Chemistry. Online version can be downloaded here


Several prizes were awarded in this event, i.e. 

2011 APA Award was given to Prof. Atsushi Suzuki from Yokohama National University, Japan.

HPI Life Achievement Award was given to Ms. Nursyamsu Bahar, MSc from Center for Pulp and Paper, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia. 

Best Oral Presentation Awards were given to: 

  • Shuntaro Tsubaki from Science Research Center, Oceanography Section, Kochi University, Japan.
  • Paula Santi Rudati from Department of Electrical Engineering, Bandung State Polytechnic, Indonesia.

Student Best Poster Awards were given to:

  • Mohamad Ridzwan Ishak from Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. 
  • Khairanissa Muchlis from Department of Physics, Padang State University, West Sumatera, Indonesia. 
  • Gi-Bbeum Lee from Department of Polymer-Nano Science and Technology, Chonbuk National University, Republic of Korea. 
  • Teena Sehgal from Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Department of Chemistry, New Delhi, India.

Finally, the Polymer Chemistry Best Poster Prize from The Royal Society of Chemistry, UK was awarded to Tomoki Yoshida from Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan.



At the same time, HPI also conducted a general assembly to elect a new chairman for a period of 3 years, 2011 - 2014. Mr. Sudirman, MSc was unanimously elected by the members as a new HPI’s chairman.
